Color Fun Run in Steamboat Springs

Over the labor day weekend, Steamboat Springs held it's 2nd annual Color Fun Run....and this was the 2nd time my daughter ran in it.  Rain or shine, the participants run/walk in either the 1 or 3 mile event.  This year it was on September 1st and started at 11:00 am on the Rodeo Grounds.

The Color used is non-toxic colored corn-starch.  It's safe and...well...very colorful.  Most participants choose white to wear because the color shows up better on it.  My daughter wears sunglasses to protect her eyes.  Some people wear goggles.

Youth Soccer Practice Starts in Steamboat Springs

It's hard to believe it is already time for fall Steamboat Youth Soccer to begin.  My daughter started practice last night.  We have a great program for the young people in Steamboat Springs. The Steamboat Soccer Club has competitive, developmental, and recreational teams for the children. They also offer skill clinics. Soccer is great exercise and the children seem to love it.  My daughter looks forward to it every year.

Roll Tide!

I know that everyone in Steamboat Springs is NOT an Alabama Football Fan...but I sure am.  And my daughter enjoys wearing the manditory cheerleader outfit that comes in the mail every football season.  She has grown out of all the outfits I can find online, so this year she will be getting a spirit jersey.  (They grow up so fast)

Why I Love Steamboat Springs and You Should Too!

I moved from a small town in Alabama to the city of Steamboat Springs.  I was more than a little nervous about moving so far from home.  Growing up in a small town makes you appreciate how close a community can be.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Steamboat Springs with a population of around 13,000 people has the draw of a big city with the feel of a small town.

Bears in my Backyard

This is what I saw in my backyard one summer day in June a few years back.  It's a Mama Bear and her baby cubs.  Yes, it can be exciting living in Steamboat Springs. They finally left...and no one was harmed...including the bears.

To help Keller Williams agents share their personally branded mobile apps with potential home buyers and home sellers, the company has launched a sweepstakes contest that will reward one lucky user with $50,000 they can use toward a downpayment or home improvement.

"We're excited to be the first real estate franchise to provide our agents with their own individually branded app and we want to share that excitement with as many consumers as possible," said Keller Williams President Mary Tennant. "A knowledgeable Keller Williams agent in your neighborhood is standing by ready to help you move into the home of your dreams."

The Keller Williams Realty Real Estate Search App works on both Android and Apple smartphones and tablets and is available for free through Google Play and the iTunes App Store. Consumers who download the app can easily enter the Closer to Home Sweepstakes by clicking "Enter to win $50,000!"

"The Keller Williams mobile app offers the most accurate, up-to-date information on literally millions of properties," said Cary Sylvester, vice president of technology innovation and communication for Keller Williams. "It's a powerful, easy-to-use tool for both agents and consumers."

In addition to the $50,000 sweepstakes for consumers, Keller Williams is offering $20,000 to the agent whose app is downloaded the most times. The company is planning a similar sweepstakes for Canadian consumers and agents.

"This is a great opportunity to generate excitement among our associates and share this incredible search app with the millions of people who are thinking about buying or selling a home or simply want to know more about home prices and activity in their neighborhood," Tennant said. "Our goal is to connect consumers directly with the local Keller Williams agent who wants to help them. It's a great time to buy or sell a home and we can't wait to write the check to our sweepstakes winner!"

The Closer to Home Sweepstakes ends on March 31, 2014. For more information, visit Google Play or the iTunes App StoreOfficial Sweepstakes Rules.
